Join nature and landscape photographer John K. Putnam for a four-day scenic canoe trip deep into Maine's wilderness. We will spend our mornings, late afternoons, and evenings photographing our surroundings while spending our days paddling, stopping occasionally for photographic opportunities. Evenings will offer a chance for relaxing and conversing with John and your trip mates.
Apeiron Expeditions is providing the expedition for John's photography workshop. Registration and payment will be through J.K. Putnam Photography.
Following the Thoreau Wabanaki Trail from Lobster Lake to Chesuncook Village, we will trace part of Thoreau's Maine Woods trip. We will paddle down the West Branch of the Penobscot River for three days, then spend the final day on Chesuncook Lake. Our typical day of paddling will be between 5 and 10 miles, leaving ample time for taking photos, conversing, and exploring.
On this expedition, canoes and camera are your vehicles to explore one of Maine's most beautiful rivers. This photographic excursion is designed to challenge and inspire photographers of every skill level, from hobbyists to seasoned shooters. Expect plenty of time for photographing the wilds of Maine as well as daily exercises built to improve your photographic vision and to help you realize your potential as a photographer.
