Join Anthony Cashio and Eric Thomas Weber, the hosts of the Philosophy Bakes Bread radio show and podcast, on a four-day immersion trip canoeing on the Upper West Branch of the Penobscot River, around 100 miles North of Bangor, Maine. On this trip Anthony and Eric will lead discussions based on John Lachs's book, In Love With Life. Lachs draws on the ancient wisdom of stoicism and the modern insights of U.S. philosophy to help us live happier lives. We will talk about appreciating the present, coping better with life’s difficulties, and enjoying its many pleasures. Our natural surroundings will make the ideal venue for thinking together about how to love life.
Join nature and landscape photographer John K. Putnam for a four-day scenic canoe trip deep into Maine's wilderness. We will spend our mornings, late afternoons, and evenings photographing our surroundings while spending our days paddling, stopping occasionally for photographic opportunities. Evenings will offer a chance for relaxing and conversing with John and your trip mates.
Join Tessa O'Brien for a 2 night, Autumn camping retreat near midcoast Maine. During your stay on Sandy Pond near Freedom, Maine we will take several excursions by canoe and foot to record the beautiful surroundings through drawing, water coloring and creative writing. All meals from dinner Friday to lunch on Sunday will be prepared by your hosts. Evenings will offer a chance for relaxing and conversing with Tessa and your fellow rusticators.
Join yoga Instructor Olga Feingold and writing instructor Liz Bruno for this unique 4 day expedition. Through the practices of canoeing, yoga, and writing, we will explore nature and self with a supportive and friendly crew. As an expedition, each day we will travel by canoe to our next campsite further downstream. We will take time in our journey for yoga and writing workshops, as well as free time for conversations or personal reflection.
